MTV dance is a 24 hour television Electronic dance music channel. The channel is operated by Viacom International Media Networks Europe

At first the MTV dance concept was a number short house segments such as After Dark, All Time Anthems, Dance Classics, MTV Dance by Day, MTV Dance by Night, Top 10 At 10, Drum 'n' Bass Mondays, House Thursdays, Electro Wednesdays and so on to the original MTV channel and would usually fit in the 7pm-6am block on the channel. But that all change because on 3 September 2001 MTV dance become a standalone channel. Then on 13 August 2002 MTV Dance became a 24-hour music channel.

 

The channel content many derives of most all genres of house from deep to electronic like they did before when they had may subsidiary channels. The its self like with most MTV channels has a chart system with helps the audience keep track of the current weeks top 40 songs but this case with MTV dance they list the UK’s top 40 dance tracks.
