3. What have you learned from you audience feedback?
Introduction
We have received a vast amount of information that we have learned about in reliance to our video. So below I will going into detail on some of the feedback we received all round.
Survey monkey feedback
Survey monkey is a market research tool we have used in the past which has proved to be useful in give us a good range of quantitative and qualitative data. So we decided to use it again to get the same type of useful information again about the feedback on our video. Also to see if there were any changes to the similar questions from the previous survey monkey before we made the music video to if anyone change their view point on anything in particular.
Question 1
This was a question was asked to our audience to find what our main gender was in the survey. From looks of the survey result the majority gender is female at 55.88%. Which in comparison to the first survey the majority was male at 61.11%. So what we can take from this is that our current audience is majority female.
Question 2
This was a question was asked to our audience to find what our main age range from our viewership for our music video. What I can take from the results is that our majority age range is the majority age range is 17 at 35.29%. Which in comparison to the first survey age range is the majority age range was 17. So what we can take from this is that our audience’s main age range is 17.Maybe suggesting that our video does really apply to the teen audience. We also able to get the older viewership as we did get responses in the 20-46 range. In particular in the 31 – 35 range with 11.76% maybe also suggesting that our video may also be applicable to an older audience.
Question 3
Question three did give a range of very good points to information as for example one of the answer was “fun, original and intruding” another one was “energetic, creative and London”. Another one was “engaging, immense and dynamic”. So what I can gather is after 34 answers is that a lot of people found our video to be quite creative and full of motion and energy. Which is what we aimed to do so for that part I would say that this is good feedback, as gave it give wide sense of what video are represented in what people took from our video. Also on plus side there were no negative comments, so it was good around.
Question 4
What I can learn from question four is that was the majority at 73.53% so 25/34 people agreed with ATMs mean view of what the whole story was about “The gaining of a new identity, through losing one”. This is true achievement .As I believe the true aim of music videos to see if the audience can get the grasp on the message that you're trying to betray and the fact that the majority of the people got that is a very good thing for us.
Question 5
What I take from the responses is that majority people that answered the survey said that they will buy the song with 73.5% majority. I will take it as a very good result as compare to what we done the questionnaire previously 53% voted no and that was the majority on that survey. So I can say is that our music video was influential enough in encourage more people to actually think about or consider buying the music from a music video. I can actually take that as a positive as we were actually able to encourage our audience to see how much work we put into it. So they'll think yes let me buy this music from something I actually like.
Question 6
What I can get from question six is that people really liked 4 main concepts in a music video. At the top is editing with 88.24% and then with cinematography with 70.59% and then we creativity with 76.7% and then with performance at 67.71%. So what I can take from this is the that people really enjoyed the editing that went into the music video as well as the concepts we added with the cinematography and the combination of the performance scenes and the creativity that we implemented into the music video. So what I can get from this is that people enjoy the ATM’s view and creative direction from the music video.
Question 7
This question was very useful as it gave a great range of prime information quality of information .As you can see from the opinions from audience which was very useful in seeing how our video appealed to them. What they liked from it. What I can take from this we did receive a common element for instance the editing and also a lot of people enjoyed the dance element of the video as that came 2nd to the majority of the elements that people enjoyed. So what I can take from this is that the combination of the two elements did really do a job of drawing the audience into the music video.
Question 8
What I can take from this is that people on average them to saw our music video as being completely original as 79.41% said no. From this we can count it as a positive as it shows we can put something new into the house and dance music scene, which I would argue all up and coming artist aim to do.
Question 9
This question was an opportunity for the audience to give us anything back. In the case that we had the opportunity to create to video again what would we change differently so that the video if you would more applicable to them. As a whole most of the answers were “no changes” .Maybe showing that people really enjoyed our music video. Change wise thee wasn’t really anything drastic only little changes as a few answers highlight such as prop changes and song changes.
Question 10
Overall, I would really like to say that I'm really happy with the comments we got at the end because it was really good just to receive all the useful and positive feedback .For example “very good though clean them close to regional” Showing some people believe that we made the song even thought it was made by Lucas and Steve and roughneck. So I think that's a good thing that on our part we did a fantastic job. As it was worth such comments as “I will defo be sharing this on Twitter, well done on the outcome”. So overall what I can take from the survey is as a whole is that was really useful way of getting a whole feel of what people grasped from our video.
Social media responses
For the social media feedback it would probably be considered as the most important feedback as it is where the music video will be put at the end of the day as it would be received through social media as the video itself will be uploaded onto YouTube to be consumed by the audience. Overall I believe that on the YouTube side I believe we done pretty well, as we were able to reach 818 views with no dislikes and 41 likes and 17 comments all positive. Such as “Turned out really good” ” like to be on this one” ” real good guys definitely a star”. So all round good comments and the fact that we done on this platform is a good thing for us as this is where real media products are consumed ,so it shows that our product fits in as a real media product. On the Facebook side we were also able to get very positive feedback as one of our band members Mark Kamara posted the finished music video on his timeline and we as the band members also shared it as well. As a whole we were able to get very positive feedback “seven likes” which is good with no dislikes and all the comments were really positive ,one said “that tune is a banger is got a hard body beat” that common also got 2 likes. We can take this as positive as doing well on a social media front as to having shown favourability to a mass audiences.
Singapore person’s feedback
Another piece of important feedback that we got was from Miika Vaso the Director of Creative Content at Saatchi & Saatchi. Which is a very big advertising in agency in Shanghai. So we very lucky to get this feedback as a teacher is friends with Miika Vaso and he was able to send our video to him. We found his feedback very useful as he was able to give us very in-depth and detailed feedback from professional standpoint. Overall we took his feedback on board and respected everything he said he said that you liked your use of editing and cinematography and we talk about his back to criticisms as to developing more narrative and working more the actors adding more energy. So overall I'm very glad that we got this professional standard of feedback as we can take this forward and learn from this and hopefully create professional standard videos in the future.
Lucas and Stevie (The actual artist) Feedback
Last but not last probably the best and most important ATM feedback is from the response we got from when our atm member mark posted on the Lucas and Steve page our music video and they actually commented back, wouldn’t have expected them to but they actually did and they said they “loved it”. As group we said that’s the best you could ever get as they are the sole craters of the song they've made the remix and we are using there song. So for them to say that the approach that we take took in a music video to present their song was like was up to point when they said they love the music video. It is very good in our part is practicality the best as I said before. This proves that we haven't a present their music in any bad light but in a good light, so this probably like the final confirmation from the top showing that we have done a good job in our music video as the artist themselves that made the music like the music video.
Conclusion
So what I can conclude overall it that our process of receiving feedback was shown to be very useful and the feedback we did received was brilliant from the audience to music video directors to the actual artist. Overall we haven’t learnt a lot about the effect of our artistic view on audience which this case from the looks of it has been taken in very well.
